OAKDALE PARK FALL COMMUNITY CLEAN UP
WHEN: Saturday, October 30 from 1-4pm
WHERE: Oakdale Park - Meet at the Beach Pavilion (132 N. 6TH Street, Hudson, NY)

WHAT: Autumnal deep clean! Removal of trash, graffiti and invasive species in forest, ponds, lake, on trails and forest platform

WHO: Everyone! All ages and abilities are welcome.


Join us for an hour or the whole afternoon! Gloves, snacks, some tools and guidance from lead volunteers will be available. Wear long sleeves for protection. Bug spray recommended. Bring your own leather garden gloves and clipping garden tools (long handled loppers, shears, clippers) if possible, and kayaks/canoes if you have them. Questions? Oakdale Lake Water Quality Public Meeting

Join Friends of Oakdale Lake for a presentation by ecological consulting firm Great Ecology, who share with us preliminary findings of their Oakdale Lake Water Quality Assessment and Improvement project.

The presentation will include:
* Sharing the Oakdale Lake watershed map
* Presenting the lake profile and characteristics
* Explaining how water flows into the lake and its sources.

WHAT: Oakdale: Past & Future Exhibition Opening
WHERE: Hudson Area library, community room
WHEN: February 7th from 6-8pm


A collaboration of FOL, Friends of Hudson Youth, the Hudson Valley Initiative and the Hudson Area Library, this fascinating exhibition includes historic photographs, maps, plans, memorabilia and text on the history of Oakdale Lake. The HVI will also be welcoming your thoughts on their final design concepts, which will be on view as part of the exhibition. 

Have your own memories of Oakdale to share? Bring copies of photographs of yourselves, your friends and family at Oakdale to add to the exhibition, which will be on display at the library through the month of March.

WHAT: Community Input Workshop
WHEN: OCTOBER 13, 3-6PM
WHERE: HUDSON AREA LIBRARY

Students from the The Hudson Valley Initiative at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation will lead a community workshop on Saturday October 13th from 3-6pm at the Hudson Library. Please come and share your ideas about how to make Oakdale Lake better. 
Childcare, food and refreshments will be provided!
